1 of the top 3 causes of death in the US is cancer!! Let's keep trying to help fight this disease in whatever way possible!

For the 7th year in a row, I will be participating in raising money for the A Shot For Life (ASFL) 24 hour gauntlet. ASFL is a non profit organization (created by Mike Slonia) that utilizes basketball (among other sports) to raise money for cancer research. Please help me reach my donation goal by November 11th.

The money raised benefits the Dr. Curry Research Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. ASFL has been funding Dr. Curry’s immunotherapy projects since 2011 and they’ve been published in research journals because of their positive results. The Gauntlet is one of ASFL’s three main events. For one of the events the Boston skyline lights up in their colors. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

My Why(s):

Harris Family

Barrett Family

Crabtree Family

Johnson Family

Candace Crabtree was the coach of the Womens basketball team & 1 of my professors while I attended Mount Ida College. She was a HUGE reason on why I graduated from Mt. Ida College in 2011. Candace Crabtree was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2008, and finished her treatment in May of 2009.

June Harris is like my 2nd mom. I have been good friends with her sons Drew and Jason since Drew and I hooped together since 06-07 at Brookline High School. In the fall of 2015 June called me and told me that she had breast cancer. Beginning of March 2016 came around June was finished with chemo, and after over 30 radiation treatments between March-May 2016 June finished her treatment and beat breast cancer. Words can't describe how happy I was to hear such great news!

October 21st, 2019, 1 of my former players loss his mother to cancer. Although I didn't know Susan Barrett very well personally, I know that she was a caring, loving person who LOVED her son Mark Barrett. With permission from Mark, the Barrett family is part of my why!!

The A Shot For Life Gauntlet is a 24 hour marathon basketball event that is meant to be loosely symbolic of the struggle that cancer patients much endure in their fight against cancer. Since 2017, hundreds of players have put on the ASFL Gauntlet exclusive black and white jersey and gone up and down the floor with the cancer community on their back. The ASFL Gauntlet is open to all ages and skill levels with intense, moderate, casual, and beginner floors playing at once in the Starland Sportsplex.

ASFL Shamrock Club $3,000:

The fundraisers that reach the ASFL Shamrock Club will be invited to an annual night at the TD Garden where they will be treated to a private ASFL suite during a Celtics game in the 2022-2023 season.

NO BRAKES DIVISION (4 Hours): The No Brakes Division is the newest addition to the ASFL Gauntlet. Our No Brakes players will play, almost non-stop, for a 4-hour sprint.
