In 2017, after exhausting every excuse I had for not being a camp counselor (I'm too old (47 at the time), inexperienced, won't have anything to offer), I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and volunteered at Royal Family Kids Camp, alongside my daughter.  Here it is 2024 and I am still actively involved with this wonderful organization that serves foster children in our community. I have had the privilege to serve as a camp counselor, the camp's photographer, Dean of Women, and this year I will lead the activity center for arts and crafts at camp. 

This camp has no paid employees, relying completely on volunteers.  Too, it is run solely on the support of the community to raise the funds needed to serve these precious children. There is never a charge for them to attend.
