Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
Please help me support the Alzheimer's Association by making a tax-deductible donation through my Sing for America fundraising page. The process is fast, easy, and secure.
Alzheimer's and dementia affects so many people. Several close friends of mine are supporting older relatives and parents suffering from the disease. The specter of Alzheimer's can touch even young people, years away from exhibiting symptoms. During production of his documentary series "Limitless," actor Chris Hemsworth discovered that his risk for developing Alzheimer's is 8-10 times the average because he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene. Here's a wonderful interview of him by George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America where they discuss his diagnosis. A Vanity Fair article about him is here.
My reasons for supporting Alzheimer's research are very personal. Like Chris, I've inherited two copies of the APOE4 gene from my parents...and this past December my mother passed away after living with Alzheimer's associated dementia for many years.
Between now and April, I’ll be rehearsing with the Sing for America Chorus for our Annual Benefit Concert which will take place at 7 p.m. on April 7, 2024, at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The theme this year is "De Terra ad Astra (from the Earth to the Stars)". Fittingly, our guest emcee is Robert Picardo, The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager!
I hope you will be able to attend our Gala Benefit Concert on April 7. Please use "SFA117" in the coupon box at City Box Office for a $10 discount off the $45 ticket price. It's going to be a terrific show! Here's a video sample from last year's performance of Sondheim's "Sunday".
Even if you can't donate right now you can help me reach my fundraising goal by sharing this page on social media or email. Just click the share icons near the top of my page to help me spread the word.
Thanks so much for your support!
Together, we can make a difference.
