Hey Y'all - I'm Katya!

I am so excited to be competing for the amazing opportunity to be Miss Texas for the first time ever this year! I am a rising senior at The University of Texas at Austin where I am planning to receive a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Acting with a double minor in Arts Management and Administration & Media and Entertainment Industries My Community Service Initiative, Hearts for Art, emphasizes advocating for arts education in our schools and teaching kids to use the arts as safe and creative emotional outlets. As someone who has lived in over 15 cities around the state including Austin, Laredo, Uvalde, and more, I have had the opportunity to see how differently funded schools have drastically differently funded arts programs as well.
