Miss DeWitt County - Madison Matlock
Howdy! My name is Madison Matlock and I am proud to be the very first Miss DeWitt County! I'm from Lamesa, Texas
and a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2022. This fall, I'll be pursuing my MBA at Southern Methodist University.
But most of all, I'm a part of a statistic. I'm one of the 2 out of 3 Americans who have been impacted by drunk driving in their lifetime.
In September 2019, my sorority sister, Carly, was hit walking with her roommates by an underage, drunk driver. She was airlifted to Houston, where life saving efforts were made. Sadly, Carly passed away September 21st, 2019. Her loss is felt everyday. Every 45 minutes, someone is killed in a drunk driving related crash. The statistics are staggering and that's why I want to be Miss Texas.
Someone has to speak up and share the truth surrounding one of our nation's largest public health issues. I'm prepared to do that at Miss Texas 2023.
Your support does not go unappreciated. I am so thankful for the people who have poured into me and my Community Service Initiative, "Perfectly Preventable". I love sharing Carly's life and pray it touches one person, so hopefully, drunk driving becomes eradicated from our communities. Thank you again for supporting my dream of becoming Miss Texas!
$1 per vote! Top 2 winners will compete as a Semi-Finalist (Top 12) on final night! Voting will close Thursday night, June 29th at midnight.
