As a first generation college graduate, I have encountered several challenges during my undergraduate and pre-medical journeys. Because I needed to improve my science GPA, I completed the UCI SOM Post-baccalaureate program and then an informal post-bacc via UCLA Extension. Now that I am currently studying for the MCAT, I have been able to get advice from peers that have already taken it and met supportive peers that continue to motivate me on a daily basis. As I prepare to apply to medical school the upcoming cycle, my mentors will continue to provide me with the necessary guidance that I need to ensure that I am a prepared to go through the application process. MiMentor helps create a safe space for students to share their personal stories, network with mentors and other peers, and attend Together We Mentor (TWM) Events.
