My name is John Korinek, friends call me Jake, I am a FDNY Paramedic. I feel honored to be asked to participate in the G2G ultra marathon with JAR of Hope, A/K/A Teamjamesy for a 2nd chance to raise awareness for JAR of Hope and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Jamesy has a rare condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) that affects one in 3500 boys. DMD is a severe muscle wasting disease that leaves most boys wheelchair bound by age 12, and there is currently no cure.

To raise awareness we are running 170 miles through the Grand Canyon over the course of 7 days, and also running the 2019 NYC marathon when we return from the desert! I have never faced anything so challenging, yet it pales in comparison to what these children and their families endure on a daily basis.

My goal is to raise awareness and at least $10,000 for JAR of Hope, to help find treatment and a cure. Every penny helps! Even if you are unable to donate please help by sharing the link.
