Brandon Scala-Celebrity Dancer

I am 51 years old born and raised in Billings, MT.  I have a wife of 28.5 years, two boys Spencer 27 and Tristan 20. I have an 8-year-old "adopted" granddaughter with a grandson on the way!  I have worked at Valley Credit Union for 6 years. Prior to that, I was in the IT industry and prior to that, I owned a local business for a number of years.

Why did you want to participate in this event?

I feel that participating in this competition will get me WAY out of my comfort zone.  I have never been one to dance for fear of looking silly. Also, I believe that supporting BSSS is super important because of the work that they do.

One interesting fact about you that most people don't know.

I have played billiards at the National level

Who is a senior in your life that has been an inspiration to you, why?

My parents have always been an inspiration to me.  Raising me was no easy task. They have always had my best interests at heart, believed in me, and shown me that hard work will pay off in the end.

I learned how to speak English in three months.

Who is a senior in your life that has been an inspiration to you, why?

A senior inspiration is not only one person but two. My parents are always a great example to me, they are people of great honor and dedication to service.

We are dancing in honor of Stanley, a Big Sky Senior Services client.

Stanley is very easy going and his kindness is contagious.  He grew up in Delaware and was in the Air Force for 10 years on an Inspection team and was on their football team in the Philippines for 3 years.  He credits the Air Force for training him how to handle any situation and how to talk with people and see their perspective. He has a great sense of humor and even though he lost his leg from above the knee in July 2019 it's not going to keep him down. His goal is to be back on the golf course this summer and he might even add dancing to his goal.

He receives homemaking services from Big Sky Senior Services. It is an honor to dance for Stanley.
