Hi there!

If you made it to this page, thank you for your interest in this fund! The money raised will go directly to providing Black Women & Girls with healing & therapy services. Historically, Black Women and girls have been taught to put the care of others before their own, suppress their emotions and pain, and thrive & survive given limited resources, while baring multiple traumas! Due to systemic-barriers, therapy, Black therapists, and other mental health resources are not as affordable and/or accessible as it should be, but we CAN change that!

My first therapy session was in my senior year of college. Adding therapy into my already busy schedule seemed impossible at the time, but a mentor encouraged me to go. I was lucky enough to be paired with a Black therapist and it made a huge impact. I thought I had it all under control, but she helped deepen my understanding of myself, my experiences, and what was necessary for true healing . I naturally tend to over-explain things, but I didn't have to do that with her. She just simply understood.

I set my goal for this fund to $2400 to begin with. That's approx. 20 free therapy sessions. Every dollar counts, so give what you can! By donating, you are showing Black Women and Girls that they are seen, heard, understood, worthy, and loved

Black Women and Black Girls, you are not alone. You are not weak. You do not have to struggle in the dark. There is NO shame in removing your cape, asking for help, showing your vulnerability, and placing your healing & well-being first.  INVEST IN THEIR HEALING.

Thank you to The Loveland Foundation for giving us this platform to help our community, which is indeed helping ourselves. We appreciate you and value your work!

Thank you so much for your interest in supporting the Loveland Foundation Therapy Fund. Whether you have already donated or you are just learning about the project, we are grateful to have you on board.

With therapy sessions in the U.S. typically costing anywhere from $60 - $250-- even with insurance, the prevalent and ingrained stigma surrounding mental health in many communities, and the fact that the vast majority of therapists in this country are white, it is often difficult for Black women and girls to access therapy when they need it. We wanted to change that.

In our pilot program, we raised over $250,000 with the support of our generous community and provided financial assistance to hundreds of Black women and girls to go to therapy. We did this through collaborative partnerships with  Therapy for Black Girls, Open Path Collective, National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network, and Talkspace, networks and service providers that are all committed to making therapy more affordable and accessible.

No matter how much you are able to give, we are excited to work together with our community again to bring therapy support directly to Black women and girls who need it. Please donate now to tangibly tell these women and girls, “We see you, we hear you, and we are invested in your healing.”Generations will benefit from their healing.
