Hello Everyone! My name is Laurel Jones and I am Miss Southlake’s Outstanding Teen! I am a current Junior at The Colony Highschool and am involved in cheer, Student Council, National Honor Society, and PALs! I advocate for my social impact, “Behind the SASH.” SASH is a double acronym first standing for suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and self-harm. The second meaning then gives those struggling with these mental health illnesses a way to get help and find their happiness. Those resources are Speak out, find an Active Support system, Share your talents and passions, and Help everyone. I am extremely passionate about this topic because I have personally struggled with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and self-harm. Through the help of SASH, I was able to find a support system of my family, counselors and my church youth group, as well as find my voice and love for singing to help me through that extremely dark time. I was able to turn my previously negative pain and pressure release of self-harm, into a positive outlet of singing!
I am currently working towards my goal of becoming Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen, so I can continue to advocate for my social impact and #EndTheStigma from a bigger platform! However, I can’t do this alone... I need YOUR help! Please consider donating to help me further my education and journey to becoming Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen! All donations go straight into the Miss Texas Scholarship Fund and will be given directly back to contestants to help them further their academic career! If you are interested in purchasing an ad page (that will be in the Miss Texas Showcase Magazine, seen by thousands, a tax write off, and to promote your business) you can contact me at Lajones318@gmail.com! Thank you so much in advance! Any amount is greatly appreciated!
Each year, the Miss Texas Organization is proud to present the Miss Texas Competition Magazine. This magazine is made available for advertisement by businesses, families and volunteers who want to promote their company, show support and wish their competing candidate Good Luck by purchasing a Magazine Showcase Page.
Our magazine is seen by tens of thousands across the nation, is sold all year long and is a popular coffee table accessory that may be viewed through out the year. Each candidate competing for the job of Miss Texas or Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen, sets a goal of how many magazine showcase pages she wants dedicated just to her. Thank you in advance for your support.
