Run Kim Run... for Jar of Hope

Supporting: 2021 WDW Marathon Weekend for JAR of Hope

I learned of Jar of Hope when I read about Jim and his son:

At the the top of the article was this statement: Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare muscle-wasting disease that is 100% fatal. Because the disease is so rare, funding to find a cure is practically non-existent.

The disease is 100% fatal... that stat by itself demands action, because without funding to find a cure, the prognosis is a death sentence. We have to spread the word and educate people about this disease, get funding in place to advance the research for gene therapies and bring this to an end.

I want to do what I can to raise awareness and money for this cause. I have three young children myself, and I would do anything for them... I would give my life for them. When I read about Jim and Jamesy, I started to cry, and I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. As a parent, we want our kids to be well and have a chance at life and happiness. I want this for Jamesy and all the children living with this disease. We must find the cure.

Please give... any amount will suffice. Your generosity and support will help move this cause forward.

I thank you for taking the time to learn about DMD. It takes a village to find a cure. Thank you

We are excited to share that JAR of Hope will be participating as an official charity partner for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!

We started running marathons back in 2014, and they have helped fund studies and assist Duchenne families in need.

We are proud to say that since the Phase I study with the University of Minnesota, we are now funding a Phase II study with mHBOT and Compound JAR914. We have 5 boys enrolled in the study: Kal, Drew, Jaco, Alfie, and Jamesy.

JAR of Hope is supporting all the expenses in the study from providing chambers to children in the study, to travel expenses and infusions. JAR of Hope is proud to be helping families all over the world. Kal is coming from California. Jaco is from South Africa and Alfie is from Ireland. Even though Jamesy and Drew are regional, there are still travel expenses getting them into NYC.

This is why we need your continued support.

We are excited to add this race to our portfolio of races JAR of Hope participates in to spread awareness and raise funds for this study.

Thank you for participating in this inaugural event with Teamjamesy.
