About International Water Safety Foundation, Inc.

The International Water Safety Foundation is focused on raising awareness about the global drowning pandemic, building a culture of learning to swim, and preventing drownings. We aim to raise funds for drowning interventions. MISSION STATEMENT “Striving to make a planet that’s 70% water, 100% water safe!” CORE PHILOSOPHIES Interdependence -- Communication -- Education -- Sustainability Drowning is a massively neglected public health issue. Drowning occurs in every country in the world. Working together is pertinent to changing the tide. The collection of drowning data is not universal. This has presented more problems than we could have ever imagined. Data is a language that tells a story and points us in the right direction. A lack of awareness, water safety education, and the fear of water has allowed the vicious cycle of not learning to swim to remain intact. Learning to swim at an early age makes children smarter. We must take proven, preventive action demonstrating scalability and sustainability for effective measures.
