May 30, 2021

I want to thank each of you for coming out and fishing our tournament yesterday in support of foster children in NW La.  I also want to thank each and every one of you that helped to get sponsors and prizes!  A special thank you to Mike Craig and Mike Cork who make this tournament happen!

Our mission is to provide support for children in foster care and for children orphaned around the world.

Our three main ministries include:

  • Supporting 3 orphanages, Danita's Children in Haiti, Hayley's House in Tanzania, and Trisker Orphanage in Panama,
  • Facilitating the "Comarca Feeding Program" which feeds 700 indigenous Ngobe children during the school year in Panama, and
  • Providing support for local foster children and families.

The Board's heart has always been to ensure that these children know that they have a Father that loves them and is always available to them.  Our volunteers are the hands, feet, heart, and voice of Christ for these children.  We have no paid staff or assets, God provides all that we need.

The money we raised yesterday will specifically support , Making A New Way.  It is an equestrian assisted learning program located at Holly Hill Farm in Benton.  Their purpose is to help children that have experienced early childhood trauma, such as foster kids, to achieve life skills and improve their self confidence.  A child is paired with a mentor and learns to care for horses, other farm animals, and engages in some creative play so that they can progress towards increased confidence and self-esteem.  It is an amazing place for these children, with small horses, chickens, a nature walk, goats and so much more.

With the money that was raised yesterday we will buy equipment and pay for scholarships so children can attend the program.  A scholarship covers the child's participation on a weekly basis for ten months.

If you want to know anything more about what we do, you can check out are website or give me a call.

We raised over $10,000 yesterday.  God Bless each of you!

Sincerely,

Jamie Jett

Pick It Forward for
Orphans is a 501c3 dedicated to helping foster children in our community. There
are a hundred reasons and thousands of kids that end up in foster homes, the
