Open Temple Pass - Morning reminder for Wednesday morning meditations September 26, 2022

Dear Friends — Join us for morning meditation in the Open Temple tomorrow. 
(I will be ringing you in - in the Western Temple at 6am PDT.)

Wednesday Morning Meditation, June 9:

KOAN EAST — David Parks will welcome you in the Eastern Temple from 7-8am EDT (or 4-5am PDT) to sit with Case #11 from The Blue Cliff Record.

Huangbo Wants You to Find Today (BCR #11)

Huangbo said, “You're all chugging down the dregs. If you run around like this, where will you meet today? Haven’t you figured out that in the whole country there is not a single Chan teacher?”

A monastic stepped forward and asked, “But what about all those places where people are guiding students and leading gatherings?”

Huangbo said, “I didn’t say no Chan, only no Chan teachers.”


Huangbo said, “You're all gulping down the brewers dregs. If you keep running around like this, where will you find today? Don’t you know yet that there isn’t a single Chan teacher in the whole country?” 

A student stepped forward and asked, “But what about all those places where people are guiding students and leading communities?”

Huangbo said, “I didn’t say no Chan; it’s only a matter of no teachers.”
