Updates
Hi NAOAGA members
and family,
Below is a message from Scott Aughtry, he is a fellow
adaptive golfer and has been a great friend to our one-arm family. Most of the equipment deals we benefit from
are a result of the work Scott has done for us.
Scott has wanted to host an event for years and this year it finally worked
out. Below is a message
from him. Looking forward to seeing everyone
in a few weeks.
Never Quit,
Dan
We are less than a month before y’all come and visit me
up here in the corner of the map. I wanted to give a few highlights so if any of you want
to venture out while here.
Seafood is one of our main staples and you will find
some amazingly good and fresh seafood!
A couple of recommendations to eat would be The Seafood
Bar at the Casino Hotel.
If you are looking to get off property, there is Taylor’s
Shellfish farm Inc. they are fresh farm raised with a small down-home
restaurant.
If you are heading thru Olympia then Anthony’s Homeport
is highly recommended. They are fresh never frozen seafood comes in from the
bay right down the street.
If you are looking for sightseeing then the time of year
is perfect for getting onto an Orca tour and they will take you out to see some
of the local pods.
Extra Golf:
Wednesday afternoon we have it set up for anyone to play
Chamber’s Bay. It is a walking only course no motorized carts allowed. They are
giving our group a military discount at $165 plus tax. I need to know by the
12th of June if you interested in playing. They do offer caddy for $100 plus tip if you to be fancy
and not carry your own bag. Please email
me your rsvp!
I am working on a round of golf for Friday, June 24th,
looks like a great course, but still finalizing. This round will be a cart facility so you
won’t have to walk this course. Please email me if you are interested in Friday.
It stays light until almost 10:30pm, so if you are
interested in extra golf Monday afternoon or an alternative to Chambers Bay with
the walking only issue, please let me know, there are plenty of quality courses
I can help arrange tee times for you.
We are hitting our prime weather and should have great
conditions. Average temps of 70-75
degrees with a possibility of it getting into the 90’s. Rain is always possible, it is the PNW. So make
sure you bring your umbrella and rain gear.
Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you all
and safe travels.
Any questions please feel free to reach out I will do my
best to help and be sure to rsvp me about the extra golf mentioned above.
Thanks
Scott Aughtry
