With an abundance of caution, we are cancelling games for this weekend.
Everyone stay safe and dry!
Hey folks,
I know we kick off tomorrow morning, so here's my last bit of advice for the upcoming season! (for those of you who see a lot of words and don't read, you know who you are, I'm watching you!!
1. When/if we get rained out at any point, I post on social media accounts and share to the following groups:
Join the Parents group on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2014053342144987
Join the Volunteers group on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/423980004712590
2. For our new folks: All you have to do is show up! Tomorrow I will hand out uniforms, you provide shorts and tennis shoes. I have all the equipment- we don't typically wear gloves, but if that makes your athlete happy, we won't stop them.
3. We will have the concession stand open now that we are in Phase 3. If you're ever interested in volunteering for that, sign up here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RhraQFvPzVNlRl60mnmp8LubD4NDe9LPJBJyNKYPQZA/edit#gid=0
4. It has been incredibly challenging recruiting volunteers. Fall is a challenging time, even without COVID. So please be patient with us and I will try my hardest to make sure everyone has a buddy who needs one. Parents and siblings may be asked to step in, if necessary!
5. Speaking of COVID. If you can maintain social distancing, you will not be required to wear a mask. We are outdoors and I know who belongs with which family, so I will respect the decision you have within your household. In addition to that, if you want your athlete's buddy to be masked, all you have to do is say so! I have warned the buddies that they may be required to do so and everyone has been incredibly respectful. The key to all of this working is some honest and open communication. You all know me and I am here for your kids!
6. The latest update on rosters is below. I am perfectly imperfect, so just let me know if there is an error.
As always, all mistakes are mine. Can't wait to see everyone and I will try very hard to keep my hugs to myself!

Hey folks,
Here is the game schedules and the rosters for this season!
Since we have moved into Phase 3, we will open up the concession stand. If you are interested in working the concession stand, please let me know!
The Governor's order to move into Phase 3 changes some guidelines, so I will have those to you as soon as they are finalized. In the mean time, reach out if you have any questions.
Can't wait to see everyone!!

I'm mostly joking. Mother Nature has decided that we won't play tonight either!
See y'all next week!
Unfortunately, the weather forecast calls for 75%-85% rain right at game time. I hate to do this, but I believe it is best that we cancel the game for tonight. I would rather cancel and give you time to make other arrangements than wait it out while hoping for the best, only to cancel at the last minute.
Planning to see all of your smiling faces next week!
Love,
Noble-Bates

Hi Everyone,
I have gotten the "go ahead" from Children's Hospital. I received a lot of feedback on going back to baseball from the survey I sent out a few weeks ago, and we are all trying to make it work. This is about to be information overload, but it's part of the deal, so get comfy and listen up!
First, we are taking all the necessary precautions to make sure the kids are safe. Behind the scenes things do not impact you:
1. Bathrooms and dugouts will be disinfected daily by Coquille staff.
2. Bats and balls will be disinfected daily by yours truly.
3. The concession stand will be closed until I can evaluate the situation in Phase 3.
4. The water fountain under the pavilion will be turned off until all of this clears up. It's a little germ factory for our youngins who haven't figured out that your mouth does NOT need to go directly on it. Please make sure you are bringing water/ beverages for your athlete.
Second, the precautions that will impact you and your athlete.
1. Games are being held on different nights. The full schedule is listed below. We have all experienced the crowd size when we change out between games. It's great to have so many fans, but now is not the time.
2. With that being said, and while the atmosphere is one of my favorite things about us, for now, we need to limit the crowd size.
- Please consider bringing only one parent or family member.
- Most of you opted to be your athlete's buddy, so that person is your family representative.
- I do understand that sometimes, you need to bring other kids with you because they can't be left at home, and that is fine! I will not turn people away, but I'm asking that we all be respectful of each other.
3. I will be taking temperatures of everyone in attendance. For the love of all things Holy, if you have ANY symptoms, stay home. Know that if you cough, I will stare you down (said with love).
4. Masks will not be required on the field. I know plenty of our kids and I know that there's no way we force them to keep a mask on their face. Outdoor and non contact sports are not subject to suggested masks at this time.
5. If there is not social distancing happening in the bleachers, I will be giving you a mask.
- I do realize that we are adults and everyone can make their own decision for what is best for them and their family.
- Therefore, there will be a zero tolerance policy of anyone being ugly to each other about their personal decision to wear a mask or not. (This is a Noble Rule, not a Miracle League Rule.)
- There has been a very generous donation of cotton masks to us from the Northshore Community Foundation.
- If you think about it, bring lawn chairs and we can surround the field on all sides to ensure distancing!
6. I will have a dedicated volunteer in the dugouts with hand sanitizer for athletes and buddies.
7. This is going to be the HARDEST part.... some families are hugging these days, and others are not. Please discuss with your athlete how y'all feel about this and if you want them hugging or not. I am hugger, and the struggle has been so very real. I'm anxiously awaiting the Fall season when I can hug all of you and the kids again.
The entrance to our facility from the parking lot has a sign on it saying "EXIT." Our people will disregard that. Coquille is using our entrance as an exit for their teams and fans from he other facilities. Come on in!
Last, but certainly not least, none of this works without YOU! I hope that with all of my communication and transparency, you can return the favor. If you have comments or concerns about things, please let me know. I take ZERO offense to whatever decision you are making for your family. We all have to be comfortable with how this plays out. Many of you said that you were waiting to see what the rules were going to be to decide if you want to come back or not. I've laid it all out for you, so if you are changing your RSVP, please let me know. If at any point in all this, you decide not to come back, please let me know. I am trying to have a grasp on the counts of people at the field each night for crowd control purposes. Additionally, I want the field to be a "no judgement" zone. We are all doing the best we can.
Now that I have bored you out of your mind, I leave you with the schedule. If there are volunteers who are still reading, please let me know if you want to come back. I definitely need a firm head count on volunteers to make sure we can make all his happen.
Love to you all and can't wait to see all the smiles again!

Hey parents, I am in the very early stages of discussing with Children's Hospital the feasibility of going back to baseball! With that being said, step 1 is for me to find out what YOU want. I never want to put anyone in a situation where they are uncomfortable, so I want your feedback. Please take this survey (I'm the only one seeing the answers), and be COMPLETELY honest with me. I understand that we have SO MANY compromised immune systems, so I want everyone to feel safe. This will be essentially picking up where we left off from the Spring season.
Summer is very hot, so we will play on weeknights. This also allows us to make sure everything is disinfected every night before the next age group comes in. For example, littles on Tuesday, Middles on Wednesday, and Bigs on Thursday.
Please be patient with me as we try to navigate this crazy time and do what is best for everyone. At the end of the day, if none of you are comfortable with this, you have no obligation to come back! We can wait it out and play in the Fall, but I know some may be getting cabin fever. We will be outside, so the face mask requirements do not apply.
Additionally, this is all assuming we move into Phase 2 next week.
I miss you all and I pray that everyone has been safe and healthy. I look forward to us all being together again soon! (PS This is also posted in the parent's group on Facebook. Please only respond one time!)
Love, Noble ????

Dear Miracle League Families,
Due to recent developments tied to the global spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), including cases in New Orleans and the heightened risks for older people, people who have serious chronic medical conditions and people who have weakened immune systems, Children’s Hospital, the Greater New Orleans Miracle League and the Miracle League Northshore is suspending all sports activities involving our athletes through March 31, 2020, at which time the situation will be reevaluated.
This decision was made carefully based on information received from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the latest guidance from the World Health Organization. While postponing/cancelling events is disappointing for athletes – as well as the volunteers, family, friends and our staff and board who look forward to cheering for them – we know that our love of sport doesn’t compare to the importance of protecting the health of the athletes, which will remain our priority.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate this constantly changing environment and strive to make the best decisions for the safety and well-being of our athletes and all constituents across the state.
We will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
Thank you,
Noble-Bates Young
Parents, friends, and buddies!
This Saturday is opening day for the 2020 Spring Baseball season! We are so excited to meet the new friends we have picked up along the way. Is it me, or does it feel like it's been forever since fall ball?!
I wanted to take a minute to discuss some house keeping items.
1. Join the appropriate Facebook group! When we get cancelled due to weather, or I have a simple reminder to send out, I try to do it through this email function, but sometimes it is most efficient to get to you through those groups.
Volunteers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/423980004712590/?source_id=947505225344431
Parents: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2014053342144987/?source_id=947505225344431
2. Uniforms: If you have been assigned to a team you have been on in the past, please consider wearing your uniform again! We had some new folks register late in the game after uniforms had already been ordered. This will help ensure all kiddos get a shirt!
- Volunteers, if you have been a buddy in the past, please continue to wear that shirt as well!
- We will have all uniforms and shirts on site for Saturday for everyone to pick up.
- We know how the weather can be, so feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable whether that is shorts or pants. PLEASE only wear tennis shoes on our field, NO CLEATS!
3. Equipment: we will have the bats and balls for the games, just bring yourself, your athlete, and all the high fives you have laying around at home.
4. If you have any special requests for the concession stand, feel free to let me know. I am working to provide some healthier options to make "treats" a little less guilt ridden. Thank you, Maggie Stone!
5. Below are the rosters, buddies, and game times. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. As always, all mistakes are mine.
*NOTE: games start at the time listed. Please try to get there a few minutes before that so we can get to it!
PLAY BALL!!
