Good evening, Everyone!


This is Heidi Rugg. I am looking forward to our weekend of feltmaking at The Clearing! Are you ready to luxuriate in a weekend of making? This email will go over some details and help me (and you) to be fully prepared. Please complete this form as soon as possible. All project materials will be provided, but there are some other things that you will need to bring. Read on!


The Clearing is a semi-rustic retreat center in Amelia Courthouse. The lodge is fully conditioned with big windows, high ceilings, an extra large kitchen, and lots of space. Please note that there is (gasp!) no wi-fi at The Clearing. Most mobile phone carriers have some reception, but it may not be strong. The address to plug into your GPS is 14006 Genito Road, Amelia Courthouse, VA 23002. If you get lost or need assistance with directions, it would be best to reach out to Sam Rugg (Heidi's husband) at 804-539-6552. 


Participants who are staying for the weekend will need to bring camping gear (tents, sleeping gear, etc...) OR pillow/bedding if staying in the sleeping cabin. Full details on how to prep/what to bring can be found here.

Proposed Menu:

(subject to review of all participant’s dietary restrictions/allergies)


Friday Dinner: Lentil Soup (Vegan); Chicken Soup with veggies; crackers/cheese; salad. Cookies/Popcorn.


Saturday/Sunday Breakfast: Eggs, Toast/English Muffins, Butter/Jelly, Fruit. Coffee/Tea. Milk provided. You are welcome to bring cereal/baked goods.


Saturday Lunch: Sandwiches (Chicken Salad, Sliced Turkey, or Ham; various cheeses); chips/pretzels. Leftover Soup from the night prior. 


Saturday Dinner: Enchiladas (your choice of chicken or bean; vegan cheese option is available); salad; fruit. Watermelon. Maybe brownies?


Sunday Lunch: Sandwiches (Chicken Salad, Sliced Turkey, or Ham; various cheeses); chips/pretzels.Veggies/Lebnah. (Also Leftover Enchiladas.)
