SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to inclement weather today’s ice skating adventure is cancelled. Temps are in the mid 20s with wind gusts up to 45 mph making it feel like single digit temps.

Please let us know if you would like your registration refunded or applied to either the 20th or 27th.

Thank you for understanding. Stay safe and warm today.

Trailblazing Hope Outdoors

January 12, 2024

Good morning,

We are excited to see our Trailblazers for ice skating tomorrow morning. However, the weather is going to be extremely cold. Single digits with the windchill. RiverScape MetroPark does have a warming tent and heat stations, but we know that it might not do the job. We are working with Five Rivers MetroParks and will provide an update in the morning if we have to reschedule. We will notify you by email as well as on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/trailblazinghopeoutdoors

If we do have to reschedule, we can refund your registration fee or apply it to the 20th, 27th, or a future adventure.

In the event we do not reschedule, we will meet in front of the skate rental building where we will give the Trailblazers their ticket for admission and skate rental. We will skate for a while and then come back together for hot cocoa and a treat. Trailblazers should wear gloves, hats, and calf-height socks. We will have extra gloves, hats, and neck warmers if needed.

Location: RiverScape MetroPark - 111 E Monument Ave, Dayton, OH 45402-1284

Drop-off: 11am

Pick-up: 12:30-1pm

See you all soon!

Good morning,

We wanted to reach out to let you know that if you registered for ice skating last week we still need a registration for the remaining ice skating adventures. We are excited to finally get on the ice this weekend. Here is the registration link: https://bit.ly/ICE_SKATING22

See you on the Trail!!

December 21, 2023

Good morning,

We regretfully have to cancel our ice skating Adventure Experience this morning. Due to the ice rink being open air it has been exposed to warm temps, making it hard to keep frozen. The high winds this morning will also cause the Trailblazers' experience to be less than ideal. Thank you for understanding and we will be right back at it next Saturday, weather permitting.

Trailblazing Hope Outdoors

December 21, 2023

Good evening,

We are watching the weather for tomorrow. If the temps are unseasonably warm Five Rivers MetroParks will close the ice rink. It is not supposed to get below 50 degrees this evening into the morning. We will call in the morning to see if they are opened and then notify you via Facebook as well as an email.

Thank you for your flexibility!

Good evening,

Tomorrow will be our final Adventure Experience in October. We will be at Mike's Bike Park from 9-11am. We are excited for this opportunity as we will get to partner with a great business in the Dayton community. Kids will check in and get fitted for a helmet and bike and then we will have a tour of the bike park with one of the staff. After the walkthrough the riders will be set free to explore the bike park on their bikes.

Please make sure that you have an online waiver filled out PRIOR to arriving. You can fill that out here: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/5bb171345004e/web/

Good morning,

We continue our Winter Adventure Experiences this Saturday with a winter hike. We will be hiking at Sugarcreek MetroPark this Saturday from noon to 2pm. We will hike the Orange trail and will provide snacks. It's a great opportunity to experience the outdoors in a different setting and activity. We ask that your Trailblazer come prepared as the temps will be in the 30s. We will provide winter hats, gloves, and neck warmers in the event some participants do not have any.

We are excited for our upcoming snow tubing adventures. We are at max capacity for both the 11th and the 25th, with some Trailblazers registered for both weeks. We know how fun snow tubing can be and we want to make sure that as many Trailblazers as possible have the opportunity to participate. If your Trailblazer is registered for both we ask that you choose either the 11th or the 25th to join us. Please email [email protected] to notify us as to which date you'd prefer to keep NO LATER than Friday, February 3rd. If you choose the 11th we will put your Trailblazer on a waitlist for the 25th. If we have spots available the week of the 25th we will notify you in the order of the waitlist. In the event that we do not hear from you, we will cancel your registration for the 25th in order to open up spots. We will not open registration for the 25th till after our adventure on the 11th just in case of weather.

Thank you for understanding and helping us provide outdoor adventure to as many Trailblazers as possible.

See you on the trail!

Good evening,

With all of the excitement of this Saturday's Adventure Experience we forgot to tell you where to drop off your Trailblazers. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the same location downtown Dayton. See everyone at 8am sharp!

December 21, 2023

Good afternoon,

Unfortunately we have to cancel our snow tubing Adventure Experience tomorrow. Due to unseasonably warm weather, Perfect North is unable to make enough snow for the tubing slopes and is not sure that they can by  tomorrow. They still haven't made a final decision and won't make one until 8am tomorrow. Due to the amount of students coming and the logistics (van rental, food order, administrative tasks, etc.) we felt it was important to make the decision sooner than later so you can make alternate plans for this evening or tomorrow.

We know that this can be disappointing. We are bummed that we can't go as well. However, we are going to offer ice skating as an alternative. We invite your Trailblazer to join us from 11-1 tomorrow at RiverScape MetroPark Ice Rink for ice skating, hot cocoa, and snacks. Admission, skate rental, and treats are covered. We will meet at the benches in front of the rental building.

Please let us know that  you received this email as well as if your Trailblazer will be joining us for ice skating. You can do so by texting us at (937) 802-0801. You can also email us at [email protected].

Once again, we are bummed that we are unable to go tomorrow. Hopefully your Trailblazer will be able to join us for ice skating.

Respectfully,

Jonathan Slider

Lead Adventurer
