Big Update!! May 14, 2020

 Dear Family and Friends,

I wanted to take some time to share with you some BIG life updates. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me in prayer and finances, these last few months have been challenging and I wouldn’t have been able to hang in there without your support.

I am still living in Northern Iraq(Kurdistan), and I still love it! The people are amazing and I am daily challenged by their love and hospitality. Because of the virus and lockdown, which I’m sure you are experiencing on your side of the world as well, the work has been limited. Lately, it has been limited to food distributions. Many refugee and IDP families are unable to work and unable to leave the camps where they are living and they depend on aid from NGO’s to provide for their families.

There have been several gifts during this hard time that God has given for comfort and I am finally able to share more with you!! I wanted to update you here before ((we)) make it public later in the week. I am getting married!!! If everything goes as planned I should be married in about 1-1.5 months. It is a long story so if you want to hear more, we’ll have to schedule a catch up! I will tell you this, he is a gift from God and answer to all the prayers, he is loyal, he loves Jesus, and he continues to pursue what God wants in our relationship. SO GOOD!

With that, we have just rented an apartment and I will be living there until we are married and he will join me. Even with all the crazy, I can’t deny that God is blessing us and preparing us for the future. There are some ways that we need your support in prayer.

  • I’m sure you have seen pictures of my rescue dog. He came from Syria during the war in November and was only 5 weeks old. We assumed he was just a wild shepherd dog and as he has gotten older we have discovered he is actually a wolf dog! In the last month he has become aggressive and because of the laws here the only humane  option is to release him to the wild in the coming week. It breaks my heart…please pray for peace and for him to have a good life in the mountains!

  • We are currently trying to buy a car! We need roughly $10-15,000, which we don’t have! We currently have about $600/month in support and with the apartment and expenses we are looking at needing about $1500/month. We are believing God to provide either jobs that allow us to buy a car and have enough each month or increased monthly support. Please pray for divine opportunities and provision. Our heart is to also bless those around us and not just provide for ourselves.

  • God has spoken to us about a future possibility of working in Syria for some time with another couple here, please pray for open doors and clear vision.

  • Another personal request, It has now been almost exactly a year since I have seen my family, and because of the virus, they will be unable to come for the wedding. While I know we will see each other when this all ends, it is hard not having them present for these big life events.

  • We are also praying as a couple about what our specific ministry will be after we are married. There are many needs in the camps as well as the people in the city we live in. Please pray for clear vision and for His kingdom to come  here!

Thank you again for your love and support. Please reach out if there’s anyway we can be praying for you or if you want to hear more about the updates and work here. I’d love to hear how you are and what God is doing during this time on your side of the world.

Love and Blessings,

Chloe Burch (soon to be) Najman and Mustafa Najman

Corona Virus Lockdown March 10, 2020

Hello All!

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. In the last month I have seen God providing in big ways. At the same time the country has shut down most places/camps/schools/churches/mosques/roads/places of work due to the Corona Virus rumors and outbreaks. Everyone wears masks, gloves, and fear. While our team is cautious, we also recognize God's protection and peace over our lives and don't want this to stop us and what God wants to do through us.

On the positive side, this virus has become a way to share why we have peace, and a WHO that peace comes from. Our team is currently asking God for creative ways to bless our community and bring peace into these situations. He is always faithful and He is always good.

Please pray with us as we try our best to be vessels in the midst of thick fear.

Please pray as some of our team is currently in Syria serving at an orphanage.

Please pray that God provides financially and emotionally for our team to be strong and to bless those around us extravagantly.

If you have any prayer requests or just want to talk, feel free to reach out through email or WhatsApp (+1 407 702 9695)

Much Love,

New Year, New Trials, Same God January 06, 2020

Hello Everyone!

Happy New Year! I want to give you a quick update on the situation here as well as thank you and praise God for what He has done this last year that I have lived in Iraqi Kurdistan.

FIRST! PRAISE! This past year has been incredible. We have seen countless people healed in the name of Jesus, delivered from evil spirits, and encounter the peace and power of the Holy Spirit. Over 115 of my students have all heard the gospel, been equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit, and trained how to hear the voice of God. Incredible ministry took place in my work these last 5 months. Please pray that the seeds that have been planted will be watered and nurtured. May the lamb receive the reward of His suffering.

In the last few days tensions have been rising and rumors of war have been stirring in the air. Throughout my life I have not only relied on the word of God but His voice and tangible presence. He has been speaking clearly and coming faithfully. I currently feel committed to staying in Iraq even with the embassy advising all citizens to leave. I feel in my spirit that God is about to move big and all I want is to be obedient to Him.

I am also leaving my teaching position that has been enabling me to stay and serve, which means I would really appreciate your prayers for increased monthly support and God's supernatural provision. I don't just want to be able to live, but my desire is to be able to serve the people here.

My family is making a big move from Florida to Alaska which is why I didn't make the trip home for Christmas, please keep my family in your prayers as they transition.

The current hope is to aid in the refugee crisis coming from the Syria/Turkey conflict, any prayers and wisdom are always welcome and appreciated.

Looking forward to see how God moves this year! Let me know how I can be praying for you and if you would like to partner in prayer or finances :)

Love and Blessings,

Chloe Burch/N. Iraq Update July 12, 2019

Dear supporters/prayer warriors/&fellow believers,

THANK YOU! Your contribution, whether you think it is big or small, makes the world of difference. YOU are what is making life and ministry possible here in Iraq.

These past few weeks since the last update have been full of logistics and open doors/new opportunities. The following is an example of hearing God’s simple voice and the blessing and fruit that came from it. It is a little long, but worth the read, I hope it encourages you!!

Back in March while exploring our town with some friends on an off day, God spoke! It felt silly, but I clearly felt the Holy Spirit say, “Stop for coffee.” I asked the friends I was with and they were on board. We drove by a coffee shop and one of my friends pointed it out. At first I wanted to keep driving and stop at the next one, but I felt the Holy Spirit pulling me towards that one in particular. We turned around and went to the “coffee shop.” When we arrived there was a banquet table being set up and we asked if they had coffee. They said they were just a hotel but that they could bring us tea. We drank tea overlooking the water. The same worker came back saying that there was someone hosting a lunch and we had been invited to stay. We did! Slowly cars start pulling up and everyone was dressed up, like super dressed up!! Because of the culture the women went and sat at the table and the men came and joined me and my friends(foreigners) at the lookout point for tea. One man who spoke english introduced the host and 50 some guests. If you guys have heard me talk, you’ll know God told me to come to Iraq to teach english. Anyway, the one man who speaks english introduces the Governor of EDUCATION for our city, his wife, and 50 of their teachers. WOW! And the man doing the introducing owns an english institute and immediately offers me a job. I told him I would think and he ended up giving me his business card.

Flash forward 3 months! Upon returning in June God said that He would provide a car. I currently don’t have enough monthly support to purchase a car so I knew He would have to do something. I felt the nudge to call the owner of the English Institute, and so for the past week and 1/2 I have been teaching at a local institute. This money isn’t a ton, but it will help me put a down payment on a car at the end of this year! And for now a couple is letting me borrow their car until they return in November. Not only did God provide a car for my time now, but He provided the way for me to be able to work and save for the future.

I am also hoping this school will be another open door to share the love of Jesus!

Please reply to this email with any prayer requests you may have. I have 1 day a week where I fast and pray for the work here and those supporting me!

Here’s how you can pray for the work taking place here! PLEASE DO NOT SHARE (for security purposes)!!!!

-I will be volunteering 2 days a week with a local church teaching english to locals starting this week. Please pray for open hearts and fruit!!

-1 day a week we have a time of prayer and worship with locals. This one just gets better and bigger, God is moving!

-2 days a week I am volunteer tutoring some very high ranking government officials, please pray for favor and safety!

-1 Day a week we have a discipleship meeting with local leaders, please pray for hearts that desire to be set apart and walk with Jesus fully.

-Work in the camps is slower and more difficult in the summer due to the heat, pray we can meet the needs despite the obstacles.

-Soon will be starting ministry about 3x/month in very strict Christian villages. Places where the priest still doesn’t allow the village to have their own bibles. We will go in with teaching english and then pray for people and share the gospel, because they have likely never heard it or accepted Christ. Please pray for great healings and moves of the spirit and that the eyes of the priest and religious leadership to be blinded to this or that they will be open to the gospel themselves. In the past priests and locals “religious people” have become violent when people have come with the gospel and signs and wonders are taking place. Our God is bigger!

Thank you for your support! With big love,

Chloe Burch

Chloe Burch/N. Iraq Update June 21, 2019

First off, thank you to all of you have prayed and financially supported, you are a bigger blessing than you know and ministry wouldn't be the same without your dedication and help! Please reply to this email with any ways I can be praying for you and your family.

Excited to report that I have been safe and sound in Iraq for a week now, and God is already moving in big ways! Because God has spoken that I be here for 4-5 years, I took the first couple of days here to settle in and reconnect with friends from my last time here. After that, the work started up in one of the IDP camps here with a distribution of a water purification system and solar lights for the widows in the camp. Once we show them how to use the gifts we are presenting them we ask if they have any pain in their body and if they would like us to pray and ask God for healing, and boy does HE show up! Most of the women in the camp have been kidnapped and tortured by ISIS and suffer extreme PTSD and trauma. They can't sleep at night and their children often suffer in similar ways. Just this week alone we saw women being healed of physical and mental ailments and it was all because we prayed in the name of Jesus. HE gets all the glory every time!

As a testimony to the word of God and what He asks us to do, our team fasted(all but water) on Wednesday for the ministry taking place on Thursday. I believe that because we gave that day to God and surrendered our thoughts and plans to Him is why we saw the fruit that we did on Thursday. In one tent there was a father, mother, and grandmother(widow) who were all individually touched by the Holy Spirit and a toddler who we believe has full hearing now! The spiritual atmosphere was dark and angry when we entered and when we left the family was smiling and laughing. The fruit of the spirit for this family was JOY! He loves to heal and He loves to love on His children.

Here is how you can join in prayer for upcoming ministry!

-Tomorrow we will do relief work near the Mosul Dam with a Christian village suffering starvation. Please pray we can meet physical and spiritual needs.

-Spiritual warfare is increasing, please pray that I can find rest and strength to have sustainable ministry.

-Continued and increased financial support to be able to abundantly bless the people in this region.

-That those who have been touched by the Holy Spirit and have seen visions of Jesus will come to know Salvation and relationship with Jesus.

-Discernment for which ministries to focus on here, there are lots of open doors, but I want to stay focused on the plan God has for this time.

I also post smaller and more frequent updates on Facebook so if we're not friends feel free to add me @ChloeElizabeth

Thank you for reading and supporting!

Ramadan in Greece! March 21, 2019

Dear Church Family and Body of Christ,

Our team has been working with locals through teaching english and doing programs for the widows and orphans within the refugee and IDP(Internally Displaced People) camps. I will send an update of my time here shortly. God is moving in big ways, but my time here(for now) is coming to an end. I want to share with you what is next and how you can partner!

God has given me a vision for the Island of Lesvos, Greece where I have previously served. A vision to serve the Muslim refugee population within one of the hardest to live in refugee camps in Europe, Moria.

This vision is big, but nothing is impossible for God, and I want to ask for you to prayerfully consider and ask the Lord whether this is something He wants you or your ministry to partner with.

Ramadan is a Muslim holy month of fasting, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and generally families come together to break their fast together with a meal after sunset. Ramadan starts on the 5th of May and ends on the 4th of June, then followed by a time of celebration on the 5th of June, called Eid al-Fitr. This month for the Muslims is a time of generosity, and a time where they petition their god(allah) for the things that they may need or want. This is a month of searching for the Muslim people. I believe that Jesus wants to meet them in that searching!

Last year, God gave me a vision of hosting these dinners for the Muslim community in Moria, every night, (excluding Saturdays to respect the Sabbath)! To radically bless this community for an entire month and to surround them by the love and power of God through serving. To love them in a tangible way through restoring family dynamics and food that they are missing from their homes.

My heart is that the atmosphere will be as close to heaven as we can attain on earth. That the building in which we serve the dinners will be drenched in worship and prayer and that we will not have to preach the gospel, but rather be a demonstration of the gospel to these people. I believe God wants to move mightily!

We have individual volunteers and teams from the United States and Canada coming to serve during this project and I will arrive on the Island to begin preparations for Ramadan on April, 20th. My prayer is that we will have all of the funds necessary by this date. I have outlined our expenses below. Thank you for reading this and asking the Lord whether or not to partner with the work He is doing in Greece!

Sincerely yours,

Chloe Burch

New Year, New Home! January 08, 2019

Hello everyone!!

This is my first update sent from the Middle East. I am safe and sound and beginning to settle in. I will be here for the next 4 months with the focus of teaching english, but the purpose of bringing the power and love of Jesus.

This past week has been full of meetings, orientations, and praying into the work happening. I want to thank you all for supporting the words God has been speaking and helping to bring them to life! Through prayer and finance, I am here and able to do the work I came to do. I will share information and stories that are heavy but real and hopeful, as well as leaving out names and locations for security purposes.

The ground has been prepared here and the people are receptive. We have already seen the instant healing power of God, the God who brings peace to the hurting, and the God who loves and comforts the widows and orphans. He is the same God that we love and that speaks to us. He is here too! He is pursuing His children in a mighty way.

This past week I was able to sit with women who were kidnapped, women who were abused in every way, women whose husband and children had been murdered in front of them, women whose eyes had been gauged out at the hand of the enemies in this land. These women are hurting, they tell us their dreams torment them and they can't escape the memories and trauma. Their children have night terrors and wake up screaming because they have seen family members killed and tortured in front of their little eyes.

The enemy isn't just a radical military force, but the same enemy that tells you are aren't good enough. The same enemy that reminds you of the shame of your past, and the same enemy that tries to convince you that Jesus doesn't have the power to bring you to full freedom. The enemy is a liar.

Ephesians 6:12 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."

1 Peter 2:16 "Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God."

I will be sharing more as I am able, please feel free to email me, send me a facebook message, or contact me through WhatsApp  I would love to hear how God is speaking to you and share more about the work here. Here are some ways you can be praying into the work here!

- Open doors into hard places for ministry, favor with local government and leaders, safety and spiritual covering, continued monthly financial support, rest and continual strength for me and my team.

God bless!

Chloe's story December 14, 2018

Let’s start from the beginning! I have felt called as a missionary since I accepted Jesus at age 5. People told me I would know God for real when “I grew up”. I knew in my heart that I had already made that decision to know HIM and pursue relationship and the purpose HE had for my life.

Fast forward through only God circumstances I got connected with a local missionary that Had been in Greece, the Middle East, and France. She shared her heart and the ministry she was with. I knew God was directing me down that same path.

I went for 6 months to serve Refugees in the Island of Lesvos, Greece which is home to more than 10,000 refugees that have fled persecution and war. It was sad and dirty, but in the midst of that, I saw God’s heart for His people. His heart is to meet them where they are, to comfort, to love, and give them a peace they have never experienced. From Greece, I taught English in Lebanon at a Christian children’s Syrian school. I personally saw God do so much through this ministry and in effect, through the children to their families. We saw healings, revivals, and freedom. God is pursuing his people. HARD.

I didn’t want to at first, but God led me to come home and finish schooling to teach. A desire He had put in me at a young age, and a desire He wanted to use for his glory. I have now completed my TEFL/TESOL, which certifies me to teach english abroad.

After Christmas, I will be headed to an undisclosed region in the Middle East to teach English amongst refugees. My heart is revival. My heart is to bring Jesus, and my heart is to see God outdo Himself and unleash His love on his beloved children.

From there, I will be going back to the island of Lesvos to serve the refugee community during the Holy Muslim month of Ramadan. During this month, Muslims pursue charity and fast from sun up to sun down, breaking their fast with a big dinner each night called an “Iftar”.

The vision God gave me was to serve these “Iftars” every night of Ramadan. To show the Muslim community the love of Jesus in a way they relate to, and with something that they cherish and something that they are not able to partake in because of their lack of food and structure.

God told me to cook for 300 people and if more come, He will multiple it. He also keeps showing me Mark 8! Go read it!! The minimum number other organizations have had in the past is 600...sooo we’re going to see miracles. Every. Single. Night.

I am so excited and amazed by the way God is shaping this, preparing people and hearts, and unraveling His glory. So far we have about 30 people all over North America that are coming to GREECE to be a part of this vision during Ramadan.

Thank you for your heart to give, to pray, to go. It is God’s heart to cover the earth with His glory as the water covers the sea(Habakuk

Below is a picture from Lebanon after Christmas! This picture challenges me and gives me perspective. Ask God to show you how He feels about this picture!

November Update!! November 02, 2018

Thank you so much to everyone who has joined my email update list. I am so excited to begin sharing more of my heart and calling. Each one of you have been a part of the prayer or financial support team with past missions, and I am so excited to share the next step that the Lord is leading me into.

After Christmas(I can't give specific dates), I will be flying to the Kurdistan(I can't give specific regions as of now, as Kurdistan is on the borders of Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran). I will be teaching english primarily to the refugee and orphan population there.

In this last year, since teaching english in Lebanon, God has re-lit the fire of teaching in me. I had always wanted to be a teacher growing up and I can see now why God had put those desires and dreams in me from a young age. My heart is to be able to provide the practical and necessary need of learning english, while showing the kids the love of Christ through the way they are treated and spoken to. Plus, I think we will have a lot of fun!!!

YOU are a huge part of commissioning the work that God is doing in the Middle East.

Please feel free to message me with any questions, advice/tips you have for me, prayer requests, or questions about how to support financially. This is just the first step in what God has called me to and I can't wait to share more. Thank you for being a part of the process!
