Greeting Cards

For each issue of our literary magazine, we create a unique artwork for our community that features voices from the issue. The featured artwork for Issue 16: Proximities is a limited edition set of 14 greeting cards, created by our 2023-2024 Artist in Residence Sanna Wani. You can read more about her process here.

This set of 14 greeting cards was created through a 10-month process, wherein Sanna immersed herself in the contributors’ works and our contributors responded to intimate questions reflecting on their own writing. ("What are some creatures (animals, insects, birds, plants, myths) that you associate with your piece?" was one such question that prompted interesting responses.) As Sanna shares with TSW, “It was important for me to pair my own interpretations with as much knowledge as the primary interpreter’s — the writer’s — to create something in tune with itself.”

Each bundle comes with a set of 14 envelopes and a handwritten note, featuring words and inspiration from contributors Alexander Duringer, Amy Hirayama, Ayling Dominguez, Hannah Schoettmer, Indu Parvathi, Isaiah Yonah Back-Gaal, Ivy Raff, Jody Chan, Juleen Johnson, Jules Chung, Renée Rhodes, Sarah Kaplan Gould, Shaiq Ali, and ZY Chua.
