The drowning disparities in aquatics mirror those we find in public health and educational systems which have often ignored the issues of race, socioeconomic circumstances, and cultural stereotyping 3,4. Therefore, a revamped focus is needed to curve the drowning disparities.

Diversity In Aquatics through the Swims Foundation is an organization that is changing the way we engage with communities and utilizes aquatic partnerships to establish these goals through the Southern Black Girls and Women's grant to provide opportunities for females and youth in South Florida to learn to swim and get certified in aquatic careers. With your support more people will be able to participate in career development and training, entrepreneurship through aquatics as certified Lifeguards, Water Safety Instructors and Coaches
