Life-Changing Service Experiences

We're supporting: Youth Crew Heroes by Pacific Northwest Trail Association

Team captain(s) : Krisanne Rice

Campaign has ended.

The PNT spans 1,200 miles across some of the wildest and most remote areas in the lower ‘48. On a typical backcountry hitch, our youth crews will spend up to ten days at a time backpacking and working out in the wilderness to service all of these hard to reach places.

The experience provides crew members with a rare opportunity to take a break from life as usual, to build things by hand, and to immerse themselves in the natural world, well away from modern distractions.

Each day on the trail provides opportunities to experience something new and a unique set of challenges to overcome. Learning to work together to solve problems, cope with changes in weather, and recover from the physical demands of trail work help participants discover what they’re capable of.

The experience helps young adults form lasting connections to our scenic public lands and discover rewarding new career possibilities. A single season of service can provide a pathway for lifelong stewardship and engagement.

Make a donation today to show the PNT community that you value and support our life-changing backcountry programs.

Your gift to the Youth Crew Heroes Campaign will unlock funding to empower future outdoor leaders to tend trails and have life-changing outdoor experiences.

With your help, we can grow our inclusive youth service program and create opportunities for aspiring leaders to get outdoors, connect with nature, and explore careers in natural resource management.
