Volunteers are the backbone of any successful fundraising activity because they not only inspire others, but help to assure the largest amount of event proceeds can go directly to the services so many could not live without. THANK YOU for your interest in volunteering to make this year's Tread Red Walk and Fun Run a success.
As a Walk/Run Route Monitor, you will be stationed at specified points along the route to help participants requiring assistance cross any busy intersections and cheer passing participants on to the finish. You will be asked to wear a bright orange vest or sash to distinguish yourself. You are also charged with casually observing passing participants for any clear sign that medical care may be needed and contacting the Walk Coordinator to send appropriate assistance. CPR/First Aide Trained and Certified individuals preferred. This role requires strong people skills, an outgoing personality, and the ability to stand for long periods of time. The role also requires the use of/access to a personal cell phone and the release of the number to the Walk Coordinator prior to the day of the event. Please bring whatever you would like to help inspire and cheer on the walkers, such as clappers, pom-poms, signs, etc.
Since you are NOT an employee of MAO, you will be required to complete and sign a copy of the Volunteer Application for Tread Red. The application includes waivers of a legal nature intended to protect you, MAO, and the direct beneficiaries of our services who may also be participating in Tread Red.
