Table set up for registration, t-shirts, raffle baskets.

Placing of signs along concourse, and parking, drop off etc.

Hanging banners, balloons, etc. 

May include some heavy lifting of tailgate tents and tables, setting up tents, tables and chairs, carnival games, backdrops, DJ stage, etc. (only assist with tents and tables if physically able).

Using our iPad or your phone, volunteers will use Square readers to accept card or cash payment for raffle tickets, provide the number of tickets purchased and ensure purchasers write their name and phone number on the ticket before they put ticket into bag.

Event Tear Down (12:30-3pm)

HIGH NEED!!!

Volunteers will assist with the tear down and packing up of all equipment that belongs to the DSA. This includes removing banners and signs that have been placed around the ballpark and Buddy Walk Village, packing up tents, tables and chairs, packing up table set ups, etc. 


*We ask that if you please let us know if anything changes and if you are not able to assist with this. We rely on the help post buddy walk and very much appreciate your support.

Team Support/Assist (9am-11am)

"Team Supports" will meet teams arriving before event at drop off and assist with unloading and setting up of their tents/tables/ chairs, etc. With direction given, Team Support will direct teams to their designated spots and ensure that displays are set up in the right direction.

Photographer (9:30am-1pm)

Photographers needed to capture photos throughout the event (set up, volunteers, vendors, teams, candid shots, action shots, etc). Photos need to be sorted and uploaded to DSA Director within a week of event. Photographer will be acknowledged as an in-kind sponsor. Photos will be used throughout the year on website, social media and graphics throughout the next year.

Parking Attendant (9am- 11am)

Parking attendant will help direct traffic around the back end of Ballpark and Buddy Walk Village. Volunteer will help guide participants in the right direction, inform where they can stop to drop of equipment for set up and share about Handicap spots.

Cheerleaders/Dance Buddies (10am-1pm)

During the "walk" portion of the event, Cheerleaders (cheer team) will be stationed along the ballpark concourse to cheer on teams marching through. Inspiring posters, poms-poms, and words of encouragement may be used to provide positive energy to the teams. 

During the Buddy Walk Village Dance Party, Dance Buddies will encourage friends to dance to the music.

Vendor Assistant-DKMS (10am-1pm)

The DKMS is a Bone Marrow Stem Cell Donor whose mission is to grow and diversify the blood stem cell/bone marrow registry. Volunteering at this table will help the DSA be eligible for a grant from DKMS. Volunteers will need to complete a brief online training prior to the event.

Responsibilities: stationed at a vendor table during the event, answer basic questions (info learned in training), help people register on their phones, and we will have a QR code on the front of the packet that goes into detail on medical eligibility requirements which are the most common questions people ask at the event.


*Short Video training is required and will be provided upon registration*

Bank of America Team (9:00- 1:00)

This sign up is for the Bank of America Volunteers.

Roles include:

"BW Team Supports"-will meet teams at edge of Buddy Walk Village, arriving before event at drop off and assist with unloading and setting up of their tents/tables/ chairs, etc. Volunteer Coordinator will provide direction and map of team set up locations.  Team Support will direct teams to their designated spots and ensure that displays are set up in the right direction, assist with decor, set up etc. 

"Cheer Support" 11:15-12:00- you will be set up along the "Walk" portion of the event along the concourse at ballpark to cheer on the teams walking through (pom poms and inspiring signs provided)

"Event Clean Up" (12:30-1:00)- assist with the start of breaking down some tables and tents, take down parking signs, assist teams that need to leave with breaking down their team site, etc. (event is not over until 1 or after...so this is just a start)

SoftPlay Baby Area Supervisor (9:30-1)

Play with babies!!! Must be 16+

Volunteers will supervise the SoftPlay area where parents will have the opportunity to let their babies (0-3) roll or crawl around without being on the grass. This area is limited to 10 kids ages 3 and under. Volunteers will ensure older kids are not in the area, that parents are not leaving babies for extended periods, and that kids are safe.
