9:00AM CST

12:00PM CST

Peter Jenkins Walking Trail 2264 Hayward Lane
Spring Hill, TN 37174

Tennessee Environmental Council is partnering with One Tree Planted for their “Plant a Tree Day” campaign. Come to help TEC expand and enhance the riparian buffer zone of Grassy Branch Creek by planting native trees.

This volunteer opportunity will take place near the Peter Jenkins Walking Trail in the Wyngate Estates subdivision in Spring Hill. Volunteers can use the address listed below to take them to the trailhead located at Hood Ct. TEC Field Operations Manager Jordan Young will meet you there and outfit you with all the necessary tools.

2264 Hayward Ln. Spring Hill, TN 37174

This event will take place on Friday, September 17 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. To ensure the health and safety of staff and volunteers we will be limiting the number of participants for this event so, be sure to sign up as soon as possible.

By planting a diverse assortment of native trees, we will extend the riparian zone along Grassy Branch Creek. Healthy riparian zones play an instrumental role in the health of a stream by reducing the amount of sediment and nutrient pollution entering the creek through stormwater runoff, controlling the rate of erosion, decreasing flood velocity downstream, and creating habitat for a variety of wildlife.

What to bring:

Please be sure to bring a face mask, plenty of water, and a desire to make a positive environmental impact. TEC will provide all necessary tools, sunscreen, and bug spray.
