Approximately 60,000 women and girls in Hartford County live in poverty. Almost one third of these vulnerable individuals are under the age of 18. Young women are more than twice as likely as than men to be single heads of households. Yet sadly, many are lacking the educational credentials needed to improve their futures, and those of their children. The President’s Report on STEM careers illustrates that women are woefully underrepresented in science, technology, and engineering careers. Half of our Earth’s population is female. Wouldn't it be a shame if we were to miss out on the innovations, solutions and creative genius that 50% of the population can bring? You Can Help Change the Story!
