Rescue 500 At Risk Children From Drugs and Abuse
In the mountains of northern Thailand, near the Myanmar border, there are hill tribe villages where despair is winning. In one of these villages all of the boys in the first grade class tested positive for amphetamines, just last month. Many of their parents are addicts. In these villages the drug use rate is as high as 70%. Without hope, without prospects, trapped in poverty, people in these villages turn to substance abuse to escape their situation.
Drug use is the single greatest threat to family security and children's safety in this region.
But there is hope. Local leaders and pastors have observed that when there is an annual soccer tournament with practices to go to and games to attend, everyone stops using drugs. "If we could offer organized soccer year round, these children, and youth, would have something to do besides get high."
The time is now. You can rescue these children from despair by giving them hope, through soccer.
Please consider a monthly gift to help pay these coaches and give the kids sports equipment.
