Border Southwest CCDA Gathering 2024

Ciudad Nueva Community Outreach & Abara @ El Paso, TX

El Paso, TX
February 22-24, 2024

Table In The Desert
Mesa En El Desierto

The framework of the Gathering will draw from the three themes found in Henri Nouwen's book, "In the Name of Jesus"

- from relevance to Prayer
- from popularity to Ministry
- from leading to Being Led

God offers abundance in the midst of our scarcity. God sets a table for us in the desert. If we were stranded in the desert with no table, no provision, then we would be stuck chasing relevance, popularity, and power just to survive. But not so! Because we have an abundant God, and an invitation to the table, we can move, in the words of Henri Nouwen, from relevance to prayer, from popularity to ministry, from leading to being led.

This will not be a typical conference, training, or border immersion experience. Rather this is a regional CCDA gathering space to rest and be restored, with a focus on practitioners in the US Border Southwest.

Psalm 23 will provide the Shepherding

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
